“Long ago and oh so far away I fell in love with you before the second show.” ― Superstar, by The Carpenters
This is the fourth in a series I’m working on where I’m back-lighting and photographing colored vinyl record albums to show off their gorgeous colors and make them glow.
For this project I utilized an antiqued color scheme, star shaped elements (which I masked out from the LPs and added a glow to), and records resembling vintage Bakelite plastic, set against a cream-colored background and topped with a custom record label.
This image is a composite of 4 different record albums, all of which are shown in their actual colors:
- Ennio Morricone’s Black Belly of the Tarantula original motion picture soundtrack on yellow vinyl with red and green
- Francesco De Masi’s The New York Ripper original motion picture soundtrack on transparent green vinyl
- Angelo Badalamenti’s Twin Peaks soundtrack on Damn Good Coffee brown vinyl
- Sega’s Golden Axe game soundtrack on transparent gold vinyl
I love this, it is really great
Linda! The Stars work perfectly with the song, one of my faves. Amazing use of multiple LPs !
Thank you so much, sweet Shaaron! You’re the best!
Thanks a million, Blood of Seitan! I think I’ve got a couple more in me. 😉
Well done again. Love the vibrant colors and theme. Yes a classic Carpenters song. The composites work! I look forward to more….
Roger, you put a big smile on my face with each comment you make! Thank you for being such a wonderful friend!
